“I thank my God in all my remembrance of you… because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now” Philippians 1:3-5
If you had the chance to join us at CCNYC this past Sunday, then you know that it was a very encouraging Sunday! It was wonderful to have folks back after summer break and to be able to worship together as a larger church family.
We also held our first of two ‘Gospel Partnership Sundays’ in which we encouraged one another to think through ways each of us can serve more fully in and through the life of Christ Church by signing up to serve in at least one new area of ministry. We also encouraged each other to sign up to participate in a mid-week home community group during the upcoming year.
The idea behind this is simply to continually remind us that this work we’re doing in NYC is truly a gospel partnership. In other words, our focus is on the gospel – proclaiming the good news of Jesus and living out its implications. And we’re all in it together. As Paul so beautifully makes clear when he writes to the church in Philippi – I thank my God in all my remembrance of you… because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now (Philippians 1:3-5).
So if you weren’t able to join us this past Sunday or if you’re still praying through ways you can live out this gospel partnership at CCNYC, we will have serving and community group sign-ups once again this coming Sunday, September 16.
