Rev. Keith Paulus invites us to consider our text for this week, Acts 17, in combination with Palm Sunday. On Palm Sunday, we are reminded of that moment when Jesus rides into Jerusalem on a donkey. We are prompted to reckon with Jesus’s Lordship—that He is King, and that He ultimately holds authority over heaven and earth. One way we recognize His authority is through the Scriptures. In Acts 17, we meet the Bereans, a group of Christians who “received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so.” What a wonderful example for us today.
