Christ Church NYC is a community of Christians who strive to make and grow disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ.

At a recent leadership retreat for ministry planning, the leadership teams of Christ Church placed a renewed emphasis on this work of discipleship, and identified it as one of our priorities for the new ministry year.

To that end, I hope you will take advantage of the several developing opportunities at Christ Church that are intended to help us grow together in our Christian life and faith.

  • EquipA new Sunday school class for adults that will meet on Sunday mornings at 8:50 AM before our worship service. The goal of this new class is to focus on biblical, theological, cultural, and vocational matters, in order to help equip God’s people to live for his glory in today’s world. Fall classes will begin on September 24 and run through November 19. A light breakfast will be provided. Children are welcome and encouraged to attend with their parents.
  • A new sermon series in the Old Testament book of Daniel begins Sunday, September 10. This seriesentitled, The King of Kingswill particularly help us to focus on the character of God and what it means to live for him in this world.
  • Home community groups resume this month. Our kick-off and sign-up Sunday is September 10.
  • Following on from our summer theology breakfasts, we are working to organize a fall semester of mid-week theology breakfasts that will focus on biblical theology.

Even as we seek to develop these educational areas, we don’t want to lose sight of other important areas of focus, particularly that of mercy and mission. So we’ll continue to support our mission partners, and to reach out to the Bowery Mission, and to develop our mercy ministry even further.
