Equip | How to Love Your (Homeless) Neighbor

Homelessness is a visible reality as we move around NYC and beyond. Many of us would love to help love the individual in front of us who is made in God’s image, but just don’t know how. Rescue Alliance are coming to speak to us from their years of experience conducting thousands of homeless outreach projects in partnership with churches, workplaces and neighborhoods. They are equipped to answer questions like: Is it safe to approach a homeless person? Should I give money to a panhandler? How can I help someone get off the street?

Come for a special three week equip series to hear from our brothers and sisters at Rescue Alliance. November 3rd, 10th and 17th at 8:45am. Coffee and Bagels will be provided.

Workshop #2: Individual Development (Answering Your Call)

Leader: Karl Chan, The Bowery Mission

Description: The Bowery Mission has many opportunities to serve, from the soup kitchen to organizing the clothing room. But how you can be a part of serving on a personal level? (i.e. through mentoring, tutoring, career development, and advocacy) How can you use your gifts to help others?
