Kyle Werner is a composer who writes new classical music for both the concert hall and the church. In addition to composition, he has a background in conducting, classical guitar, piano, and percussion. He grew up in Grand Rapids, MI, attended college at the University of Cincinnati, and completed master’s and doctoral degrees at the Manhattan School of Music. A passionate music educator, he serves on the faculty of Manhattan School of Music Precollege, The Geneva Conservatory (Geneva School), and the School of Mahanaim. He has regularly been involved with the Center for Faith & Work, where he has completed the Gotham Fellowship, co-led an Artists Vocational Intensive, participated in the Artist Residency Intensive, given workshops on faith & creativity, and was the recipient of an Artist Grant. As a writer he has contributed to the Gospel Coalition, Faith & Work Study Bible, Geneva Journal, and the Cincinnati Enquirer. In his spare time Kyle enjoys cooking, reading, visiting the Met Museum, birdwatching, and sailing. He resides in Washington Heights.
